Casual Friday
My work. Lets call it J-Tronics is a company is a middle sized town in middle England. I have called it J-Tronics to hide its identity, but also to keep up a theme started by my friend and colleague Calamity Jane.
Every Friday they have a casual Friday. Not to raise money for Africa or anything like that. But just in general because they want to. But you see it is a casual Friday like many companies. It isn’t actually that casual. Most of the time I still wear my suit. Because most of my casual stuff is inappropriate for work. For instance I have the t-shirts that would offend some people. Like the ones below
Normally I wouldn’t give a shit but we are working for some clients and we got to uphold a good working relationship. Now when you mention casual Friday, you imagine people wearing the sort of thing they would wear away from work.
Not at J-Tronics. Now I cannot speak for Calamity Jane and her female friends, but the guys just wear the same shirts but this time with jeans. Wooooooooooo well adventurous. They swap their trousers for jeans and maybe some loafers. THAT is their casual Friday. So I restrain myself from wearing my offensive clothing. And come in, in long summery shorts, trainers and a t-shirt. Maybe even a sleeveless hoodie if the Air Con witch has control again (another story).
But yet people look at me as though I have just raped their only child. It is fucking summer people; I am allowed to wear a sleeveless hoodie and long shorts. The director that sits near me studied me every time I walked past the whole morning. I am sure he was debating whether to say something to me. But decided against it due to the fact I was wearing casual clothes on a casual Friday. He’s a nice enough guy and I think he was just jealous of my shorts.
But anyway who wants to wear jeans for 8 hours during the summer? At least my shorts are nice and airy! Get a bit of air circulation going on during the summer. Plus they are alot more comfortable to sit in than a suit.
But you can never please the masses. I learnt that when I was the President of Chad.

Actually ‘non-uniform’ day works pretty well for me. I can swap out my boring work heels for some snazzier shoes or comfortable trainers, and my blouses with collars for blouses with cleavage.
I ask for all my favours on Fridays.
I would try the same but I would probably have people throwing up on my cleavage. I shall remember to come down and visit you on friday afternoons now.
